Share the Real Version of Your Dog
- Use recent photos and profile details that help another owner recognize your dog.
- Choose comfort levels that match your dog's current needs, not the dog you hope they become someday.
- Share the context another owner would reasonably want before meeting: size, play style, triggers, leash needs, and anything new.
- Update your dog's profile when their needs change.
Plan the Hello Together
- Chat first so both owners understand the plan.
- Pick a neutral, public place that gives both dogs room to move away.
- Start with distance, a parallel walk, or another low-pressure setup when either dog needs space.
- Keep dogs leashed unless both owners agree, the location allows it, and the dogs are ready for that step.
- Treat "not today" as a complete answer.
Bring Dogs Who Are Ready
- Meetups are for dogs who are current on required vaccinations and cleared for contact with unfamiliar dogs.
- Puppies should wait for dog-to-dog meetups until they are fully vaccinated and your veterinarian says they are ready.
- Skip meetups when your dog is sick, recovering, in heat, or having a day where unfamiliar dogs are too much.
- Choose another plan when your dog needs more structure than Pawppy can provide.
Read the Room, Then Read the Dogs
- Stay present during meetups and watch your dog's body language.
- Pause, add distance, or end the meetup when either dog or owner seems uncomfortable.
- Keep feedback kind and specific. Every dog is a work in progress.
- Celebrate boring, calm, uneventful hellos. Those count.
Be Neighborly With Humans Too
- Be kind, patient, and direct about what works for you and your dog.
- Respect blocks, declines, cancellations, and changed minds.
- Keep Pawppy for genuine dog and neighborhood connections, not spam, scams, sexual content, harassment, threats, or unrelated promotion.
- Use inclusive language. Pawppy is for all kinds of dog people.
Protect Privacy
- Share exact addresses only when you are comfortable and a meetup plan actually needs it.
- Keep private chats, photos, and personal details private unless the other person gives permission.
- Use Pawppy's report and block tools when something feels off.
Reporting and Blocking
Reports help us understand when someone is using Pawppy in a way that hurts trust. The Pawppy team may review reports, restrict features, remove content, or suspend accounts when needed.
Enforcement
Pawppy does not guarantee compatibility, safety, training outcomes, or meetup results. Owners are responsible for their dogs and choices. These guidelines help set the tone for the community we are trying to build.
